Floor Treatment for New Packing Area

Client Requirements

With over thirty years of experience in health food supplements, this local producer knew exactly what they needed for their new packaging area within their state-of-the-art production facility in Coventry. Zenith Contract Services’ resin flooring division was tasked with supplying and installing a self-smoothing, easily cleanable epoxy resin system.

Overview of Works

• Product Selection: The client required a durable, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing floor. The chosen product was KDR EPO Flow in a striking mid-blue (RAL Code 5015), known for its durability and ease of maintenance.
• Surface Preparation: Our team began by thoroughly preparing the existing surface. Using a diamond-headed grinder under strong vacuum, we ensured minimal dust contamination, which is crucial for a clean and effective application of the new floor system.
• Primer Application: Two coats of KDR EPO primer were applied using rollers and brushes to ensure thorough coverage and optimal adhesion. These coats were allowed to cure fully before proceeding to the final layer.
• Final Floor Application: The final layer involved applying the EPO Flow self-smoothing system. This was done using trowels and spike rollers to achieve a seamless, smooth finish that met the client’s exacting standards.
