New Floor Finish for Paint Workshop and Spray Booth

Client Requirements

In October 2023, a new paint facility was completed at a Coventry-based manufacturing centre, enabling the company to complete a larger volume and greater complexity of paint work on-site. All components are finished with either a black, red or silver paint coating that is impervious to normal brake fluids and high brake temperatures.

Overview of Works

Zenith was involved in the refurbishment of the paint facility, which was completed in four phases to minimise disruption, as timing is critical to the production programme. As the works took place within a live environment, dust suppression during the preparation phase was paramount and this was achieved using state-of-the-art industrial vacuum recovery units, along with the sheeting over of any sensitive equipment.

Extensive repairs to the floor within the paint workshop and spray booth were undertaken, using an epoxy resin mortar that was trowelled to match existing profiles, ensuring the area was suitable for application and removing any potential trip hazards.

We selected KDR Polycoat HB, a high build epoxy resin, for this job and the same product was used for both the overall floor finish and demarcation lines, achieving an impressive level of finish.
