Client Requirements
Orbit Heart of England is a local housing association, part of the Orbit Group, that manages around 165,000 properties for families, couples, singles and older people living in a mix of rented, leasehold, support and home ownership properties across the Midlands.
Zenith was called out by Wilmott Dixon, main contractors for the Orbit Housing Group, to carry out a Prior To Let Clean on one of their properties in Coventry, that had been vacated leaving the premises dirty and littered with rubbish.
Overview of Works
The team found rubbish throughout the property, and with experience of similar properties, were aware that the previous tenant may have been a drug user. This meant there was a high risk of hypodermic needles being discarded around the house, possibly hidden from view, presenting a hazard to Zenith’s operatives.
Trained to deal with the disposal of hazardous waste, the team proceeded to carry out a void clearance of the property, working within strict safety guidelines. Once the initial clearance had been completed, repairs were carried out, followed by a Prior To Let Clean, leaving the property in pristine condition, ready for the next tenant to move in.
